IWAENC 2020 becomes IWAENC 2022

In light of the persisting Covid19 pandemic and the resulting uncertainty regarding safe travel, the IWAENC 2020 organizers have decided  to postpone the workshop to August/September 2022 to avoid any health risks for the participants and to maintain the unique character of the workshop as in-person event. The exact date will be announced as soon as possible.

Authors who planned to submit papers, special session proposals or demo proposals  to IWAENC 2020  are encouraged to submit their contributions to EUSIPCO 2021 or WASPAA 2021.

New Workshop Date

The IWAENC 2020 organizers have decided that the workshop will now take place on May 17 – 20, 2021. The new submission deadlines can be found here.

Workshop Postponed

In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the IWAENC 2020 organizers have decided after careful consideration to postpone the workshop to the first half  of 2021 to avoid any health risks for our participants. The new date will be announced as soon as possible.

Plenary Talks

We are pleased that Tara Sainath (Google Research), Toon van Watershoot (KU Leuven), and Jens Meyer & Gary W. Elko (mh acoustics) confirmed to give plenary talks at IWAENC 2020. Further details can be found here.

Technical Co-sponsorship

Technical co-sponsorship of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) has been granted to IWAENC 2020. All accepted papers will therefore be available via IEEE Xplore.

Honorary Chair Eberhard Hänsler

We are delighted to announce that Professor Eberhard Hänsler, the initiator and co-organizer of the first International Workshop on Acoustic Echo Control (IWAEC) in (West-)Berlin in September 1989, agreed to serve as Honorary Chair for IWAENC 2020 in Bamberg. His initiative evolved into one of the leading workshops in speech and acoustic signal processing. Reflecting the broadening scope, its name was changed to International Workshop on Acoustic Echo and Noise Control (IWAENC) in 1995 and to International Workshop on Acoustic signal ENhanCement in 2010, respectively.
