IWAENC 2020 will include special sessions that complement the regular program with new and emerging topics of interest to the community of audio and speech signal processing. The organizing committee solicits proposals for special sessions within the scope of the workshop.
Proposals should be submitted via email to the special sessions chair Sharon Gannot (Sharon.Gannot@biu.ac.il) by November 13, 2020 containing the following information:
- Title of the special session
- Rationale for the special session
- List of at least 6 invited papers (titles, authors with affiliations and short abstracts)
- Short biography of special session organizer(s) including the affiliation, address, and email
Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness and attractiveness of the topic, organizing committee qualifications, as well as the proposed list of contributed papers.
Papers submitted for special sessions are reviewed via the same process as regular paper submissions. For special sessions that are somewhat undersubscribed (due to paper rejections or a limited number of submissions), an effort will be made by the conference organizers to identify regular paper submissions suitable to complete the session. If a special session is seriously undersubscribed, the special session may be canceled, in which case the accepted papers for the canceled special session will be placed into the regular program.
A special session will be assigned to either an oral or a poster session by the program committee.
